What is RISC?


  •   Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC). 
  • Small instruction set. 
  • Fixed-length instructions. 
  • Reduced references to memory to retrieve operands. 
  • Mostly used in workstations.

ü  Complex Instruction Set Computer (CISC).
ü  Large instruction set.
ü  Variable-length instructions.
ü  Variety of addressing modes.
ü  Complex & expensive to produce.
ü  Mostly used in personal computers.
