Computer Memory:


A device or medium that can accept data, hold them, and deliver them on demand at a later time called Memory.
Two Types of Storage: --
Ø  Primary storage.
ü  Used to hold running program instructions.
ü  Used to hold data, intermediate results, and results of ongoing processing of job(s)
ü  Fast in operation.
ü  Small Capacity
ü  Expensive.
ü  Volatile (looses data on power dissipation).

Ø  Secondary storage:

ü  Used to hold stored program instructions.
ü  Used to hold data and information of stored jobs.
ü  Slower than primary storage.
ü  Large Capacity.
ü  Lot cheaper than primary storage.
ü  Retains data even without power
